Nine Inch Nails surprised fans on Thursday (July 17) by releasing their new song, “As Alive As You Need Me to Be.” The industrial rock titans also revealed the release date and tracklist for their highly-anticipated Tron: Ares soundtrack, which will feature 24 NIN songs, and is set to drop on September 19 via Interscope Records. The film itself will hit theaters on October 10. The new track is co-produced by NIN’s current tour openers, Boys Noize, and it marks the band’s first new music in five years. The Tron soundtrack continues Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor‘s ongoing creative partnership with Atticus Ross, with the duo scoring 20 films together, winning two Oscars (Original Score for The Social Network in 2011, and Soul in 2021) and three Golden Globes (Original Score for The Social Network, Soul, and Challengers in 2025). Nine Inch Nails ongoing Peel It Back world tour is set to arrive in North America on August 6 and will run through September 19. (Billboard)
